It’s been a while…..

It’s been a while…..

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. I needed to re-connect, re-think. I had done various amounts of preparations and recordings at the end of last year for my forthcoming projects and I needed time to figure things out.

Just some basic news for today: I’ve done a BRM Spotify playlist thats been gaining fans and followers and here it is:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/50tiRDiW0hufBE7XRnmLjl

And this one I love updating as it contains my favourite listening pleasures – call it late night bliss playlist

Please follow me and my playlists on Spotify, and support me by sharing.

New recordings:

A new EP is almost ready and I will update when a release is imminent.

A new album is in the making and a funding platform will soon be announced. Meanwhile if you would like to support me and my work on this album, please do get in touch now, as investments and funding is welcome at this stage. Donations for the album can be sent to mart@billieraymartin.com via paypal now.

I am most excited about this new album and it is also a scary process. This album is the most elaborate and ambitious record I’ve ever attempted to record, and I simply cannot wait to share the first bits of info with you.

At some stage soon there will be a new website. In the meantime please follow me on my social media pages for news updates and bits and pieces. The website is up though if you want to check out my previous releases.

A couple of weeks I returned to Heaven for a classic Acid House party and had a ball… and yes, that is Robert Owens on the decks behind me.

On my bandcamp page there are a few rare merch items still available and some more will be offered once the album funding gets under way.

Finally I’d like to say that I have never been so excited about making my crazy music and I really want you to get involved and be part of it. A new BRM is at play and it’s all about sharing with you and making the process fun.

With Love.

Non-toxic, environmentally friendly, biodegradable  & effective fire extinguishers.

Dangers of Fire Extinguisher Powder Exposure

After a fire, the residue left by a fire extinguisher needs to be cleaned up. Many areas do not allow phosphates or sulfates to be added to the water table. Since the majority of fire extinguishers contain ammonium phosphate and/or ammonium sulfate, you need to be careful about cleaning up. The chemicals can irritate your skin, so use gloves and avoid inhaling by using a dust mask.

Fire Extinguisher Powder Consumption

Despite being non-toxic, you shouldn’t try to consume the powder that comes from a fire extinguisher. If you do eat some of the powder, it could cause your throat to become sore and red and may even cause some stomach upset, but this would require quite a bit of powder. You should rinse any dishes or food that has been covered, but if you do get a little on your plate, don’t worry. It won’t hurt you in small amounts and is quite safe to deal with. As a fire man or woman you might inhale quite a bit of of the stuff and this will make you run to the loo. This is why we recommend to use an environmentally friendly biodegradable  fire extinguisher such as the one you can get from Fire Defender

Fire Extinguisher Powder Inhalation

Fire extinguisher powder inhalation is one of the biggest dangers with fire extinguishers. It is very irritating to mucous membranes and may cause difficulties with breathing if inhaled in large enough quantities. Usually, in a small fire situation where you would be using one of the commonly seen extinguishers, there would not be enough dust to be breathed in. However, if it does happen, you should go to the hospital. The dust may coat your lungs on the inside, which can prevent oxygen from reaching the rest of the body.

Not all fire extinguisher powders are the same. They must be non-toxic in order to be safe for home and car use, but keep in mind that the powder may be irritating to skin and eyes. Avoid inhaling and stay away from ingesting quantities of the powder.

Creole Berlin Contest 2018 – Visit Berlin

WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN invites you to ‘Creole Global’ on 7 – 9 September 2018.  An international musical talent show featuring world renowned GlobalBeat Bands.

To celebrate the 25th birthday of the WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN, Berlin’s premier venue for global festivals, the first international creole event will be taking place 7th-9th September 2018 in Neukölln, within the heart of Berlin.

Creole is a unique, well established talent contest featuring performers who are influenced by intriguing transcultural experiences, from orchestrated performances, to dance music and fusion. The contest has been running for the last 12 years, but until now has only been open to performers with residency in Germany. Now, for the very first time contestants from around the world are invited to enter ‘creole global’.

Philippa Ebene (Managing Director and Artistic Director of WERKSTATT DER KULTUREN) explains, “creole has gone from strength to strength for the last 12 years and we have been receiving more and more enquiries from abroad, which we could not accept when the competition was ‘creole Berlin’. We are very excited to be able to open the competition to international bands as it takes both ‘creole global’ as an event and indeed the venue to a worldwide audience. The original creole has always had a global spirit, featuring artists who draw their skills and influences from diverse sources and the musical fusion they create, and as ‘creole global’ continues to develop organically we now have the opportunity to invite even more world class artists to perform in Neukölln”.

In total 77 applications arrived from Germany, France, Italy, Burkina Faso, Mauritius, Iran, Austria and Switzerland.  All applications were from bands with solid craftsmanship and expertise; bands with the ability to create unbelievable fusions, collaborate styles and deliver compositions influenced by Worldmusic and Worldjazz.

“The numerous first-class applications overwhelmed us completely and did not make the pre-selection process easy” explains the head of the judges Biasch Akame from Universal Music.

This resulted in the judges making the unprecedented decision to open the contest up to 21 bands instead of the original 14. “We cannot wait to experience the varied range of bands from orchestral to dance music live in September during the contest, says Akame.

Get the best Segway Hoverboard in the UK 2018

Where to buy the best Segway Hoverboard

I have little experience with a segway hoverboard, but I have seen enough video to know this applies to them. Any difference will be a matter of degree. Hoverboard climb hills just fine. Even steep ones, up to about a 30 % grade. That’s quite steep. Steeper than any street you are likely to find.

What happens is that the contact of the tires on the ground moves a bit uphill. Lean forward when you are going uphill, and lean back if going downhill. So your weight must shift accordingly. It can be really disconcerting when going downhill. Just take it slowly.

But be aware that you need traction. If the hill is slippery, full of leaves beware or get off. If you might not be able to stand without slipping, you probably shouldn’t try a Segway there either. It might handle it but your margin of safety will be on thin ground.

The battery of the Segway hoverboard recharges while I’m riding downhill

Yes, the Hoverboard has “Regenerative Braking”, so when you are going down a hill, or even just decelerating on the flat, charge gets passed back to the batteries.

Other accessories to enhance the experience of the hoverboard include a brake light kit to to notify other drivers that they are going to stopp or turn. A hill kit which allows the Segway hoverboard to more consistently climb hills without any problems and a speed charger so that whenever the hoverboard needs to be charged the owner can save several precious hours of their time due to the fact that the speed charger nearly halves the charging time from 12 hours to roughly 6 hours.  It handled going up and down hills with ease — I never felt like I was going to pitch forward or backward off the rider. It can take you across any terrain and at a speed of 12.1 mph we blazed by the regular hoverboards with ease.
